Hi, I’m new here.

My name is Ashlan, and I’ve never done this before. Having grown up in the .com age and the blog boom, it’s surprising that I’ve never done this website thing before. Sure, I’ve had social media accounts, myspace and facebook and instagram, but a consistent blog (or even a diary)… I haven’t ventured into this world.

I am a quilter, and I am excited to embark on this journey of sharing what I love with the world. My hope for this website is to share progress on my current projects as well as share tutorials for techniques I love and reviews and recommendations on tools. I believe the quilt world is full of the best people, and I want help anyone who is interested see that it is a welcoming space.

I come from a long line of quilters. My great-grandma, my nana, and my mom are all quilters. I grew up snuggling under handmade quilts. I’ve always loved quilts, and when a local guild started a Quilting 101 class in 2019 I jumped in feet-first. A great friend and quilt mentor, Donna, took me under her wing and has shared her knowledge (and her stash) with me every step of the way. In 2020, our lessons were canceled and I turned to the internet for guidance. If it wasn’t for some great bloggers and quilters who so graciously share their knowledge, I may not be the quilter I am today. I hope to give back and encourage some future quilters with my story and lessons-learned.
